Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Shima, Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday and at around 11 AM, will participate in the ‘Garib Kalyan Sammelan’.
This public programme marking completion of eight years of the government led by the Prime Minister, is being organized across the country at State Capitals, District Headquarters and Krishi Vigyan Kendras. The Sammelan conceptualizes elected public representatives across the country directly interacting with the public in an endeavour to get feedback about the various welfare programmes being run by the government.
‘Garib Kalyan Sammelan’ will start at around 09:45 AM with Chief Ministers, Central Ministers, State Ministers, Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly and other elected public representatives directly interacting with the public at their respective locations across the country. At about 11:00 AM, with the Prime Minister joining the programme, the various state and local level programmes will get coveraged and make the Sammelan national. During the Sammelan, Prime Minister will directly interact with the beneficiaries of different programmes of nine Ministries/Departments of the Government of India.
According to a government statement, the freewheeling interaction being organized across the country is aimed to get free and frank feedback from the public, understand the impact of welfare schemes in people’s lives and explore convergence and saturation with regard to different government programmes. The endeavour is to make the reach and delivery of government programmes more efficient so as to improve the ease of living of the citizens of the country.
PM will also release the 11th instalment of financial benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. This will enable the transfer of an amount of around Rs. 21,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday visited The Ridge Shimla, the proposed venue of 'Gareeb Kalyan Sammelan' and Rally of the Prime Minister. He gave necessary directions to the organizers to make adequate arrangements for making the event a historic one. He also directed the officers to ensure proper connectivity during interaction of the Prime Minister with the beneficiaries. He said that the police must also make proper arrangements for smooth plying of vehicles, parking of buses and other vehicles.
Thakur also asked the officers to ensure that the general public and tourists do not face any inconvenience due to this event. Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, National Vice President BJP Saudaan Singh, State BJP Co-In charge Sanjay Tandon, Chairman State Cooperative Bank Khushi Ram Balnahta, Chairman HIMFED Ganesh Dutt, Principal Secretary IT Dr. Rajneesh were present on the occasion among others.
Meanwhile, at a function in Seraj Assembly constituency, Thakur said that the state government was ensuring all round development of every section of the society and every part of the state. He said that it was a matter of pride for the people of Himachal Pradesh that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the nation from the Ridge, Shimla on the completion of 8 years of central government. Ministers and Members of Parliament and about 18 lakh people from across the nation would join the programme from their respective district headquarters. Beside this, crores of population of the country would also be watching live telecast of the programme, he said.
