Over 1.5 lakh passengers travelling in 315 buses have to remain alert from 'Parda Gang' as they can steal from these passengers; so far 6 gangs have been identified to be active. Mayor of Bhopal has raised an issue and wrote a letter to CP of Bhopal regarding the gang.

A total of 315 city buses are plying on the roads of the capital. BCLL (Bhopal City Link Limited) is operating these. For security, these buses are fitted with CCTVs. With the help of these cameras, shocking revelations have come to light.
The 'Parda Gang' was exposed when a female member of the gang stole the purse of the lady police. After this the footage of the camera installed in the bus was checked and a woman was seen stealing a purse and footage was provided to the police.
On September 2, the purse of lady police Jyotsna Sharma, who was traveling in civil dress in SR-5, was stolen. At the same time, on September 22, money and goods were also stolen from the purse of nurse Lalita Patil.
Gangs are more active on those routes where there is more movement of passengers. The presence of gangs is coming to the fore on routes like MP Nagar, New Market, Bairagarh, Hoshangabad Road, Kolar Road, Awadhpuri etc.
