Spiritual guru Srimad Baba Balia has been nominated for the Padma Shri award for outstanding work in the field of social service. The President of India will honour Baba Balia with the prestigious award on March 21.
In this regard, a congratulatory and felecitation function was organized by the Paradip Biju Patnaik Memorial Trust (BPMT) on Sunday. General Secretary, BPMT and former Mayor Basant Biswal, vice president Kumarbar Nayak, Ullas Biswal, Jyotikant Parida, Alok Mohapatra, Atal Parida felicitated Baba Balia at the Trust premises.
Besides, Anant Balia Seva Sangh and Art Of Living organisation jointly organised a Namayajna at Atal Bihari Memorial Park in Paradip.
The programme was moderated by Bramhachari Anand Brahma of Shishu Anant Ashram in Nehru Bungalow and yoga trainer of Art of Living Tapas Ranjan Pati. Spiritual activists Prashant Maharana, Er Santosh Kumar Panigrahi and Belarsen Nayak coordinated the event.
