Official suspended for demanding money

The Chhattisgarh government on Saturday suspended an official for demanding money from a beneficiary.

Arvind Gedam, a Superintendent and In-charge Assistant Director, Social Welfare Department in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, was suspended for demanding money from a person to sanction his funds from the Disabled Marriage Promotion Scheme, an official statement said.

During the suspension, Gedam will be posted at the office of Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department, in Raigarh.

Meanwhile, Hemant Khalkho has been given additional responsibility as the Assistant Director in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi.
