Geologist Satyambad Patra, who hailed from Malkangiri district of Odisha, was among the four persons killed when a Pawan Hans helicopter fell into the Arabian Sea near the ONGC Sagar Kiran oil rig off the Mumbai High Fields on Tuesday.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri expressed grief over the death of the four persons.
The chopper on board had nine people, including seven ONGC staffers and two pilots. All of them were taken out, but four, who were unconscious after rescue and flown to a Mumbai hospital, were declared dead later.
