Five blocks to be covered in first phase of the election
Panchayat polls will be conducted in three phases in Hazaribag district. That will be in the first, third and fourth phases. In the first phase nomination will start on 16 April. In the first phase five blocks of the district will be covered. A total of 11.81 lakhs voters will use their voting rights in 3078 booths of the district.
In a press conference held here on Wednesday Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay said that in the first phase Choparan, Barhi, Barkatha, Chalkusha and Padma blocks will be covered.
The nomination date for nomination is 18 April and the last date for nomination will be 23 April. Scrutiny of the nomination 25-26 April, withdrawal of the name 27 and 28 April. The symbol will be given on 29 April and voting will be on 15 May and counting will be on 17 May.
She further said that the total 80 Panchayats will be covered in the first phase in five blocks. In the first phase 1048 Panchayat ward members, 80 Mukhiyas, 103 members of Panchayat samiti and 12 Zila Parishad members will be elected.
SP Manoj Rattan Chothey said that out of 3078 booths in Panchayat election 430 booths are general nature, 1559 sensitive and 1089 are super sensitive. We have demanded 10500 extra forces from the state Government and 850 officers.
The SP further said that we have totally prepared for the conduct of smooth and fair Panchayat elections in the district. On the occasion DDC Prerna Dixit, Probationer IAS Rina Hansda were present.
