Nirmala Bhagat was declared Zila Parishad President and Veena Choudhary Vice President of Ranchi District Board.
The election of Zila Parishad president and Vice president was completed in Ranchi on Wednesday. The election of President and Vice-President was conducted in the Zila Parishad building under the supervision of President and Election Officer, Zila Parishad cum Deputy Commissioner Ranchi, Chhavi Ranjan. During this, District Panchayati Raj Officer, Additional Collector, Naxal and other concerned officials were present.
Before the election of Zila Parishad President and Vice President, oath was administered to all the elected Zila Parishad members of Ranchi district. Ranjan administered the oath to all the Zila Parishad members.
For the election of Zila Parishad President and Vice President, all 36 Zila Parishad members exercised their franchise. The election of the President and Vice President was conducted through ballot paper.
Two candidates filed nominations for Zila Parishad President. After scrutiny, Ranjan finally announced the names of Hindia Toppo and Nirmala Bhagat.
After voting, Nirmala Bhagat was declared Zila Parishad President. Nirmala Bhagat got 28 votes out of total 36 votes while Hiniya Toppo got 4 votes and 4 votes declared invalid.
After nomination and scrutiny, the names of four candidates for the post of Vice President were announced. President and election officer Ranjan announced the names of Veena Chaudhary, Manoj Kumar, Prahlad Lohra and Commissioner Munda for the post of vice-president.
After voting for the post of Zila Parishad Vice President, Prahlad Lohra got 3 votes, Manoj Kumar got 07 votes, Commissioner Munda got 05 and Veena Chaudhary got 20 votes. Out of 36 votes, one vote was declared invalid.
Ranjan administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly elected Zila Parishad President Nirmala Bhagat and Zila Parishad Vice President Veena Chaudhary. The Zila Parishad President and Vice-President took oath to discharge their duties faithfully as per the law.
