The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday promoted seven Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) Cadre officers to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).
“In pursuance to the recommendations of the review screening Committee in its meeting held on July 1, and with the approval of the Competent Authority, IPS officers of AGMUT Cadre presently posted in the cadre have been promoted to the DGP Grade,” according to the order issued on July 7 by Rakesh Kumar Singh, Under Secretary, MHA.
“The IPS 1989 batch, Mukesh Kumar Meena, Sunil Kumar Gautam, the IPS 1990 batch , Sanjay Singh, Dependra Pathak and IPS 1991 batch Nuzhat Hassan have been promoted to DGP garde,” the order stated.
“Further, IPS 1990 batch, Tajendra Singh Luthra and IPS 1991 batch, Dr Vivek Gogia presently posted on Central Deputation are hereby granted proforma promotion in the DGP grade from the date of assumption of charge of their immediate junior in the cadre,” the order further added.
Dependra Pathak is currently posted as Special Commissioner of Police law and order division zone –I in the national Capital. In June 2018, the MHA transferred 1990-batch IPS Pathak to Andaman and Nicobar islands as director general of police (DGP).
Earlier, Pathak worked as special commissioner of Delhi police operation and traffic and was also chief spokesperson of Delhi Police till June 2018.
Pathak was known as the man behind the modernisation of the Delhi Police traffic wing.
The IPS 1989 batch, Mukesh Kumar Meena was last year appointed as Special CP, Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) in Delhi Police. Earlier, he was posted as DGP, Goa.
Nuzhat Hassan, the IPS 1991batch is presently posted as Special CP, Vigilance and Public Transport Safety Division. She was earlier, Special CP, Women Safety, SPUWAC and SPUNER.
