The BJB Autonomous College in association with Mo College Abhijan on Tuesday organised a national seminar on ‘Mental wellness and today's youth: Stigma and concerns’.
Keynote speaker, JNU Centre for Social Medicine and Community Health Associate Professor Dr Sunita Reddy called upon the youth to be responsible for their action and never compare themselves with others and make good use of their energy and have a holistic development of their personality.
By joining the creative aspects of life like music, dance, recitation, creative writing, etc., one can fight back anxiety and depression, she added.
Mo College Chairperson Akash Dasnayak said that the competitive structure of society often leads to anxiety and depression among the youth.
Among others College Principal Niranjan Mishra and Anthropology Professor Dr Itishree Padhi spoke. About 200 students joined.
