Malhaar is set to announce shortlisted films on August 1

Malhaar is India's first and largest virtual worldwide film festival, and it has received critical praise globally. Following the success of the previous season, which captured many hearts and engaged cinephiles, the Malhaar short film festival returns with all its delights once more.

The success of the first edition translated to Malhaar receiving thousands of film entries in the current season, and subsequently admitting some excellent international and regional films from all over the world.

The Malhaar Film Festival is all set to announce the names of the shortlisted films on August 01, 2022. This season's entries consist of films from various languages, including Malayalam, Bengali, English, Spanish, French, German, and many more.

Some of the best minds in cinema will converge on one spot to demonstrate their filmmaking abilities in films created in their regional language. This film festival is interested in learning more about diverse cultures and storytelling methods and showing them to the masses on a large scale.

The Malhaar Virtual Film Festival broadens the area of learning opportunities as various filmmakers from different countries of the world speaking different languages will get to engage with one another and discuss life and cinema. Additionally, there will be honors for best directors across several categories, such as Best Indian Short Film, Best International Short Film, Best Short Film Under 20 Minutes, and many more.Malhaar amped things up this year, with a stellar jury panel consisting of renowned artists of the entertainment industry, including Adil Husain (national award-winning Indian actor), Rajit Kapoor (Indian actor and director), Sameer Nair (CEO of Applause Entertainment Limited) Neeraj Kabi (self-taught Indian actor and producer) and Amitesh Grover (Theater artist and author & associate professor at the National School of Drama). The film festival has also roped in Singapore International Film Festival’s Special Jury Prize winner, K. Rajagopal, short film director Gautam Vaze and Ajayan Vincent a well-established cinematographer.
