Lakecity Football Club won the Bhopal Football league today beating Hazrat Nizamuddin FC by 3 goals to none. First time entrant in the league, Lakecity FC bested an established HNFC in the final of the Bhopal League 2022, premier soccer tournament on Monday in Bhopal.
Sealed with stunning brace by Prashant Thapa and a goal by Nikhil Patil, Lakecity FC took the podium.
Cheered by an excited and large crowd of fans, Lakecity FC has played an exciting and attacking brand of soccer in this season and had swamped past the last year winner Bade Maharaj in the semi-finals. Riding on excellent soccer skills, Lakecity FC has been making rapid inroads and impact in central India since the start of the season this year.
" We have always believed that we'd be here, but to be here and be the champion in Bhopal League is simply overwhelming. My team was outstanding today and kept things as planned.," said Atharv Charki, captain of Lakecity FC. "This is amazing, I just want to celebrate now."
