Jharkhand Police direct district police to stay alert

Thursday, 30 June 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Police have directed all district police officials to stay alert and beef up security in the wake of the barbaric murder of a tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur in Rajasthan by two fanatics.

As per the alert note, the police headquarters has said that the incident may trigger a law-and-order problem; hence, the district police have to stay alert.

In Ranchi, an additional 3000 cops are set to be deployed and the patrolling has been increased. Police headquarters specially asked Ranchi police to remain alert since Ranchi witnessed a massive riot-like situation on June 10.

“All police stations have been given special direction to increase patrolling and keep a tab on antisocial elements, who can create a communal disturbance. The social sites are under scanner and anybody found creating communal disharmony will be strongly dealt with,” said an official of Ranchi police. Security will be further increased on Friday and if required prohibitory orders will be issued.

On June 10 a strong mob of around 10000 surged on the Main Road and created a law-and-order problem. They were protesting the statement of Nupur Sharma. They attacked police and religious places.

Two persons died and around seven were injured in the firing. As many as 48 FIRs were lodged by police besides some private persons.  Notably, even central has sought a report from the state police about June 10 violence and a PIL was also filed before the Jharkhand High Court.
