Accepting the fact that prices are soaring, BJP national spokesperson Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi on Saturday said comparing it with other world economies, the Central government has kept things fully under control. Inflation is also within a single digit, he said.
Dr Trivedi was in Raipur as part of a training programme of BJP leaders.
Interacting with the media, he said the present high inflation scenario had been created post Covid-19 pandemic followed by the Ukraine war. World economies are reeling under high inflation and have crossed double digits.
Citing the example of Sri Lanka, he said Pakistan was on the brink. Even the United Kingdom inflation had reached around 40 percent. But the Modi government had kept India's inflation under 8.5 percent, he added.
He said the price of an LPG cylinder today was around Rs 1,100 but in January 2014 it was Rs 1,241. Similarly, in 2009, the inflation rate stood at 12.5 percent.
Welcoming the procurement of cow urine and congratulating the state government, Trivedi said it was Mahatma Gandhi who promoted protection of cows for rural economy. It is good the state is taking care of cows.
On freebies and subsidies, he said the Punjab government had announced Rs 1000 to all women irrespective of their economic status. Why should a rich woman or professional get it, he asked.
