Impact4Nutrition secretariat  opens at JLU

To provide impetus to engagement with diverse stakeholders particularly with the private sector around nutrition, Impact for Nutrition state secretariat office in Madhya Pradesh was inaugurated by Ms. Margaret Gwada, Chief, Field Office UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh, along with the launch of Poshan Talks, the dialogues around diverse issues and perspectives on nutrition, health and communities.  These talks have been created and produced by the students of Faculty of Journalism and Creative Studies JLU. Hosted by Jagran Lakecity University, the state secretariat shall work on three strategic areas which is referred to as the ACE Card-Assets and Core Business for Nutrition, Cash/ CSR for Nutrition and Employee Engagement for Nutrition. On the eve of Women's Day, talk series by women in corporate, nutrition and political fields was released on the day.

 The I4N platform is a unique public-private engagement (PPE) which focuses on contributing to the POSHAN Abhiyaan through two streams of activities: improving workforce nutrition and improving Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) investments in nutrition relevant programmes. IMPAct4Nutrition (I4N) is India's first ever platform in the public space for public-private engagement on nutrition. It is founded by UNICEF India, Tata Trusts, CII and NASSCOM Foundation along with some other major organisations.

Speaking on the occasion, Margaret Gwada, Chief, Field Office, UNICEF said Nutrition is a focus area of Madhya Pradesh Government, however Governments alone can't do it and we need to make nutrition a movement, engaging corporates, media, political leaders and young people.

Other experts and influencers who attended the event at JLU campus included, Ms.Neha Bagga, Aniruddh Chouhan CII, Dipika Agrahar Murugkar, Shubhrajyoti Bhowmik, Prakriti Jain, Pallavi Vyas, Girish Sharma, Archana Jain, Jyoti Sharma, Pushpa Awasthi, Sameer Pawar and Anil Gulati. The session was chaired by the Pro Chancellor JLU in presence of Vice Chancellor JLU.

Sharing his thoughts, Abhishek  Mohan Gupta, pro Chancellor, Jagran Lakecity University said, " As a university, we are very conscious of our role in the society. Our four pillars of vision not only point towards student centricity, multidisciplinarity, national & global outlook, academia-industry integration but also towards contributing to women & child and youth development issues."
