The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted conditional interim bail to the prime accused in Balangir woman teacher Mamita Meher murder case Govinda Sahu.
Sahu has been granted bail for a period of two weeks after he requested the court for bail citing the treatment of his wife and son.
The High Court also said after completion of the bail period, Sahu would surrender before the lower court.
In his bail application, Sahu stated as no one else is there in his family to take care of his wife and son who need medical attention, the High Court must consider his plea.
Notably, Mamita of Jharni village under Turekela block in Balangir district, who worked as a teacher at the Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district went missing on October 8, 2021.
