More than 1L sangat expected to reach Panipat on Apr 24

With an aim to spread the message of communal harmony and brotherhood as preached by Guru Tegh Bahadur, Haryana Government is geared up to commemorate the Sikhs’ ninth master’s 400th prakash purab celebrations at a state-level function on April 24 in Panipat, in which more than one lakh sangat is expected to participate.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said that the Sikh Gurus have played a pivotal role in uniting India in one thread by preaching the message of love, equality, brotherhood and communal harmony in the society. “Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed himself for religious freedom and humanity. It is because of the supreme sacrifices of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, he has been rightly crowned with the sobriquet of ‘Hind Di Chadar’ by the entire humanity,” he added.

Meanwhile, Panipat District Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan said that a cleanliness drive was carried out from GT Road to the place of gathering on Friday morning. Every section of the society participated in it.

He said that the District Administration has completed all its preparations and it will be ensured that nobody face any difficulty. Official maintained that due to hot weather, all arrangements of coolers, fans, and drinking water have been made in the pandal.
