Chhattisgarh's School Education Department on Sunday issued guidelines and Standard Conduction Process (SCP) to be followed at Balwadis to be started in 6,536 schools across the state.
In a circular, the Principal Secretary for School Education, Dr Alok Shukla, told the District Collectors to follow the SCP and ensure all-round basic education to the children of age 5 to 6 years.
In this tender age, children have the capability to adapt things better and whatever is inculcated to them makes a strong foundation for their further studies, Shukla said.
The Chhattisgarh government has decided to start ‘Balwadis’ in 6,536 schools where Anganwadis are already being operated.
Balwadi will be operated like a pre-school where education will be provided to children in the age group of 5 to 6 years through academic and fun learning activities.
The decision is on the lines of the National Education Policy 2020. A total of 68,54,000 children will benefit in 2022-23 through this scheme.
Balwadis will be operated in the school premises for two hours before meal break. Work is underway for construction of additional rooms at schools for the Anganwadis.
