The General Insurance Employees All India Joint Forum observed one-day strike on Saturday pressing for their 5-point charter of demands.
All four General Insurance Companies operating in Odisha and all over India were closed. The employees were picketing in front of their respective offices.
In Bhubaneswar, GOIAIA Oriental Unit national president Shyam Sundar Mohapatra, president OICOA Odisha Unit SK Majhi, GOIAIA Odisha Unit president G Khan, Hemant Mishra, Anil Biswal, Ramesh Chandra Nayak, Kabi Chandra Das and others led the stir.
The demands included immediate wage revision settlement , 30% family pension of last basic at par with bank employees and pension to all those who have joined after 1.04.2010 under Pension Scheme 1995.
