Four wagons and the engine of a stationary freight train got derailed after it was hit by a locomotive near Raigarh railway station in Chhattisgarh on Thursday.
The incident took place at 11:40 am at a railway siding on the outskirts of Raigarh railway station on the Mumbai-Howrah route, said Saket Ranjan, Chief Public Relations Officer of the South East Central Railway.
The twin-engine locomotive collided with the stationary empty goods train from the rear, the official said. The locomotive was also damaged. No one was injured.
Prima facie it seems negligence resulted in the incident. But an enquiry is on, Ranjan added.
As the mishap took place on what is called a "third line", the movement of other trains was not affected.
