Electricity is the heart throb of development: CM

Thursday, 10 November 2022 | Staff Reporter | bhopal

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the officers and employees of the Energy Department, who work continuously for the general public, provide important services. We all should encourage them. The Energy Department has a special contribution in the achievements made by Madhya Pradesh in various fields.

Chouhan was addressing a workshop on energy conservation, uninterrupted power supply and consumer satisfaction and felicitation ceremony at the Kushabhau Thakre auditorium. He also congratulated the felicitated officers and employees.

Chouhan said that the electricity is the throb of the heart of development. If the heart stops beating, development ends. Today the food grains are abundant in Madhya Pradesh. This miracle has happened due to the electricity and the staff of Electricity Department. Madhya Pradesh has made a record production of wheat in the entire country. We are exporting food grains.

The Chief Minister said that today Madhya Pradesh is a 24-hour power supply state. While electricity has become helpful in agriculture, irrigation, education, industry, at the same time the education of children is being done properly only because of uninterrupted supply of electricity. The hard work of the officers, employees and other staff of the Energy Department is commendable.  Chouhan said that during monsoon, when electric poles were uprooted in different parts of the state including Bhopal due to strong winds and storms and there was obstruction in power supply, then the staff of the department promptly repaired them and restored power supply in a short time. Electricity workers were working day and night for this. They also worked even at midnight.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the State Government is providing subsidy worth crores of rupees to the domestic consumers to provide cheap electricity. If water is being made available in villages by installing taps in every household through Jal Jeevan Mission, then work is being done on it only with the help of electricity.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that awareness campaigns are necessary for saving electricity. When power is not required, the power switch should be turned off. I switch off electricity when I see the electricity unnecessarily being used in the Chief Minister's residence. If electricity is used unnecessarily, it is a waste of public money.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that we all should be aware of saving electricity. Energy literacy campaign should continue uninterruptedly. Without electricity, the pace of development will come to a standstill. Efforts are on to rectify the various lapses in the department.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the government has been continuously vigilant to fulfill the expectations of the people. The CM said that it is necessary that all the officers and employees do their work with a feeling of great pleasure. There should be a yearning in the heart of a person, it is this yearning that gets the work done.
