Director, Rajya Shiksha Kendra (RSK) Dhanaraju S and M.P. State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (MPSEDC) Managing Director Abhishek Agrawal opened an online lottery for free admission of children of disadvantaged groups and weaker sections in the first admitted class of private schools under RTE.
The process, conducted at the State Education Center, was telecast live on the Centre's YouTube channel. On the occasion, Dhanraju said that in this online lottery system, priority has been given in seat allotment to children whose parents or guardians have died due to COVID-19. He said that Madhya Pradesh is the leading state in the country to adopt an online lottery system under RTE.
This year, online applications of 201304 children have come under RTE. After document verification, 171921 children have become eligible for the lottery. Out of this 89702 are boys and 82219 are girls. Those who are being included in this online lottery, allotment of school is being done by random method. The children who are getting allotment of schools are also being informed through SMS. Children will be able to take admission in their allotted schools from July 15 to 23. Fees of these children will be transferred online directly to the school account by the government as per rules, 109258 applications have been received for nursery class, 55996 for KG-1, 4080 for KG-2 and 29 thousand 407 for class I. Applications from more than one lakh forty thousand children have been received. Out of which a total of 1,22,987 children have been eligible for the lottery process after the verification of documents.
