In a bid to boost tourism, the State Government is planning to develop the Dhauli Hill situated on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
A master plan is being prepared for the purpose which would be executed soon, informed Tourism Minister Aswini Kumar Patra in the State Assembly on Saturday.
Replying to a query by Congress MLA Suresh Routray on development of the Dhauli, Bindusagar and Kedar Gouri tourist sites, the Minister said the destinations would get makeover soon.
The Dhauli Hill is best-known as the site of Dhauli Shanti Stupa or the Peace of Pagoda. The giant structure was built by the Japan Buddha Sangha and the Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangha in 1972. It commemorates the mission of peace that emperor Ashok had achieved after the Kalinga War on banks of the Daya river.
