Crime branch police foiled a dacoity bid and nabbed seven members of gang near Gandhi Nagar Petrol pump carrying sharp edge weapons and other tools planning robbery at Petrol pump on Sunday; 4 country-made pistols, 7 live cartridges, sharp razors and red chilli powder, torches, ropes and two four wheelers were seized from the accused.
Police said that on the receipt of the information of men carrying arms and planning robbery police swung into action and nabbed 7 persons.
In the initial investigation when the dacoits were questioned they confirmed that they were planning robbery at Petrol pump late in the night but were nabbed while they were planning dacoity.
The gang was planning to rob for many days, accused Naseem is wanted in crime cases of several districts and carrying a reward over Rs 19,000 on his head.
Arrested accused were identified as Nitesh Sonone, Niresh Rajak, Arif Khan, Naseem Khan , Azim Sheikh alias Azim Uddin, Kuldeep Londhe, and Aamir Mahbia.
After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 399 and 402 of the IPC and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
