The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Sunday announced its second list of 10 candidates for UP assembly elections.
Naukhelal has been given ticket from Tilhar, Ram Chandra from Baberu, Dayaram from Nareni, Devnath from Banda, Sushil Singh Patel from Ayashah, Ram Krishna Hegde from Khaga, Madhu Dwivedi from Bikapur, Mati Ullah Advocate from Tamkuhi Raj, Rudra Datt Tiwari from Ghazipur and Kanhai Kol from Chhanave.
CPI state secretary Girish said the party had decided to field 60 candidates previously but the number of seats to be contested was lessened later. He said the party had announced names of 31 candidates in the first list. He said two CPI candidates could not file the nominations due to lack of documents while the nomination of CPI’s Shahjahanpur candidate was cancelled.
“The Shahjahanpur candidate’s nomination paper was cancelled under the influence of a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate and under a conspiracy,” he alleged.
He said the number of CPI’s candidates was 38 as of now.
