The Marshaghai police in Kendrapada district have arrested the owner of a residential coaching centre after a student was electrocuted at the institute on Tuesday night.

The arrested person was identified as Chitta Ranjan Rath, the managing director of Juna Chowk-based ‘The Royal Guide Residential Coaching Centre’.

One Debi Prasad Das , who was the only son of Kunjabihari Das of Gopinathpur  under the Mashaghai police station, was studying Plus Two second year Science at the coaching centre. He came in contact with a live electric wire accidentally while going to bring his clothes from the rooftop of the building.

Later, the father of the deceased lodged an FIR at the Marshaghai police station against Rath and the TPDOCL.

Notably, the 11-KV live wire was hanging near the four-storied building of the coaching centre just a metre away from the balcony.
