Chief Minister Hemant Soren today gave a big gift of a State-of-the-art dairy plant to Santal Pargana residents in Sahibganj. The CM said that with the commissioning of this dairy plant, there would be a radical change in the lives of farmers, cattle rearers and milk producers. Their income will increase. In this way, along with our farmer brothers, the state will also become self-sufficient. On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over a cheque of Rs 10 crore to the Jharkhand Milk Federation as an honorarium to the milk producers.
An MoU was signed between Jharkhand Milk Federation and Common Service Center (Pragya Kendra) at the inauguration ceremony of Sahibganj Dairy Plant. Under this, processing milk and milk products in the dairy plants of the state will be made available in the market by Medha Dairy. In this episode, all the milk products of Medha Dairy will be available at more than 20,000 common service Centers in the State. For this, the Chief Minister presented the retail certificate to the operators today. In this way, the government has stepped in the direction of making these milk producers available from village to village.
The CM said that the government provides resources for development and welfare. One has to ensure that the resources are properly and optimally used. He said that the present processing capacity of Sahibganj Dairy Plant is 50,000 liters per day. The government will extend all cooperation to increase its capacity to one lakh liters and then to two lakh liters very soon.
Expressing concern, the CM said that today artificial milk and milk products made from it are being sold indiscriminately in the market. “We are all aware of how dangerous this milk is for our body. If this is not controlled then human life can be in danger. Even after all the efforts, cases of malnutrition coming. Today, to avoid this, there is a need to promote the production of pure milk, so that people consume it and remain healthy. Cattle farmers are urged to pay special attention to increase the livestock so that maximum pure milk reaches maximum number of people,” he said.
The CM said that about 80 per cent of the people of the state are from rural background. In such a situation, without strengthening the farmers and livestock farmers, the state cannot be taken on the path of development. He said that many schemes of the government are going on for the farmers and livestock farmers. You must take advantage of these schemes. He said that loan waiver of about 900 crores of farmers has been approved; besides KCC loans of more than Rs 13 hundred crores have been given to the farmers so far. This is a record. Our priority is to make farmers empowered, self-reliant and self-reliant.
Soren said that times are changing rapidly. In such a situation, farmers will have to bring changes in themselves to keep up with the times. They will have to use the latest technologies, so that the best use of resources can be possible in agricultural work. Whatever is needed by the farmers in this, will be provided by the government.
The CM told the farmers that with your cooperation, the government has made a record of procurement of paddy. Now the government has given approval to open more than a dozen rice mills for this paddy to be used in its own state. In future, the government is making an action plan to bring many more such schemes for farmers and livestock farmers.
Notably, Sahibganj Dairy Plant has been constructed at a cost of Rs 34 crore. More than 1.5 lakh liters of milk and milk products are being processed daily from 6 hi-tech dairy plants across the State. So far more than 40 thousand milk producers and one lakh cattle have been linked with the Jharkhand Milk Federation. The government is giving Rs 200 crore annually to the bank accounts of milk producers. The government is giving subsidy of two rupees per liter to the milk producers.
