With thebasic objective of creating awareness among the Indian population, the ICAR-IISR, Indore has been organizing various activities under "Swacchta Pakhwada"for many years.
This year also, the Indian Institute of Soybean Research, Indore celebrated "Swachhta Pakhwada 2022" from December 16 to 30 by conducting various activities. During the inaugural program of Swacchta Pakhwada, all the Scientific, Administrative, and Technical staff led by the director of the institute KH Singh, took the oath of a clean and green India. In his opening remarks, Singh said "We shall take responsibility for dedicating 100 hours per year, to make the environment and nearby surroundings clean".
During the fortnight, "Farmers Day" commemorating the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh was celebrated on December 23 by the institute by organizing a "Farmers-Scientists interactive discussion" involving farmers from different districts.
The banners on the theme were also displayed at various locations of the city and institute. The cleanliness drive was conducted at the institute and the residential campus of ICAR-IISR, Indore, while Shyam Kishore Verma, member Secretary of Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan has briefed the school children of Shri Ram Convent School, Musakhedi, Indore through conduct of the poster and essay competition. The program was concluded with the prize and certificate distribution to the winners during the valedictory program organized on December 30.
