Coal India Ltd. organised a workshop on “Technology Roadmap” under the aegis of the Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India at its Headquarters in Kolkata.
Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, CIL; SN Tiwary, Director-Marketing, CIL; B Veera Reddy, Director-Technical, CIL; SK Sadangi, CVO, CIL; Sanjiv Soni, Senior Advisor (Finance), CIL and Anandji Prasad, Advisor (Projects), MoC were present at the workshop.
Addressing the gathering at the workshop, Chairman, CIL said resilience, implementation of new technologies and digitization can help any organization to grow to new heights. He urged the stakeholders to use new technologies and promote innovations in operations in the coal mining sector.
While setting the agenda for the workshop, B. Veera Reddy, Director-Technical, CIL, emphasized that new technological interventions can make an impressive difference in the excavation of coal in view of CIL’s 1 billion tonnes coal production plans by FY 24-25. He reiterated the need for new technologies especially for underground mining, which has the potential to take centrestage in the years to come.
Anandji Prasad, Advisor (Projects), MoC spoke about the role of improved automation and technology integration to make the nation Aatmanirbhar in coal production.
Over 150 delegates from CIL & its subsidiaries and the Ministry of Coal along with coal and allied sectors from across the globe, attended the workshop which was held via physical and virtual modes.
