Chhatisapat, a very nice scenic wetland spot under Tangi-Choudwar block in Cuttack district, is now getting a facelift with renovation work done by the Forest Department at a cost of over Rs 72 lakh.
Over 3,000 saplings would be planted around the wetland where migratory birds would get their rest sheds. A watchtower for the visitors, removal of the weeds from the reservoir for reserve of more and more water, Pindis for picnickers, boundaries around the water body, etc., are also being planned.
Free breeze in the surrounding can create thousands of waves in the water of the reservoir in which the birds can swim and play. This apart, fishermen of the locality would get benefits of fish cultivation. Boating facilities for the visitors would also be available, said Bairee Range Officer Aviram Jena, adding that one can enjoy the nature beauty here.
