The State Cabinet on Friday gave approval to 29 proposals, including the increase in the MLA funds from Rs 4 to Rs 5 crores. Now, every MLA will get a fund of Rs 5 crores per financial year. The demand for increasing the MLA fund was being made by the MLAs for a long time. The Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Jharkhand Secretarit on Friday.
In another major decision of the Cabinet, the responsibility of running eight polytechnic colleges opened in 2018 has been given to Prejha Foundation. The Foundation will run the polytechnic colleges of Khunti, Lohardaga, Palamu, Chatra, Jamtara, Godda, Bagodar and Hazaribagh. By relaxing the clause-235 of Jharkhand Finance Rules, on the basis of nomination under clause-245 of Jharkhand Finance Rules, Prejha Foundation was selected and approval was given to operate these eight new polytechnic institutions under the department with the help of Prejha Foundation.
In another important decision of the cabinet, administrative approval has been given for the construction of a 500 bedded new hospital of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Sakchi, Jamshedpur at a cost of over Rs 396.69 crore.
At the same time, approval was given to increase the retirement age of non-educational doctor/specialist doctor of Jharkhand Health Service from 65 years to 67 years. Also, approval was given for a total of Rs 1.70 crore in the current financial year 2022-23 for the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for the Prevention of Drug Abuse and its operation. Post-facto approval was given regarding the ninth (monsoon) session of the fifth Jharkhand Legislative Assembly.
Post-facto approval of the Council of Ministers was given in the issued Departmental Resolution Memo No.-15, dated 18.01.2022, regarding the implementation of Jharkhand State Journalist Health Insurance Scheme 2021 for the journalists serving in the state of Jharkhand.
Approval was also given to the guidelines for formulation of policy for laying optical fiber cables in the state. Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, approval has been given to revise the monthly honorarium payable to the field officers/employees working on contract.
