The Chhattisgarh government has stepped up the formation of Rajiv Yuva Mitan clubs across the state as part of its theme 'Garbo Nava Chhattisgarh'.
An official statement on Sunday said the clubs are proving to be a platform to focus the energy of youth in a positive direction and to ensure the overall development of the state through their contribution.
The Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club was launched in September last year. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had then claimed that the youths would get an opportunity to establish their identity and develop leadership potential through them.
The government has made a provision of Rs 50 crore in the annual budget for the Rajiv Yuva Mitan clubs. Each club is given Rs 1 lakh to conduct creative activities throughout the year at the rate of Rs 25,000 every three months, the statement said.
A grant amounting to Rs 132.69 crore is to be given to 13,269 clubs across the state during the year.
The clubs are registered under the Firms and Societies Act. Each club has 20 to 40 youths, whose age varies between 15 and 40 years.
A ministerial level committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister for the implementation and supervision of the scheme.
