The 68 Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) deployed in Koraput district conducted an outreach programme on Monday at the SSD Government Girls’ High School, Nilabari under Bandhugaon block.
The event was organised under the guidance of DIG Madan Lal and supervision of Commandant Yoginder Agarwal.
BSF ANO (Anti Naxal Operations) first woman officer Assistant Commandant Amandeep Kaur conducted an informative and motivational session with students. She emphasised on carrier opportunities in the armed forces and also spoke about the importance of women in BSF in operational duties refereeing deployments in ANO and in the international borders. Kaur appealed to the girl students to join the security forces to serve the nation and develop a unique perspective in life.
About 75 girl students and 23 teachers of the school attended the event.
People of the area urged the BSF to organise more such programmes in different interior areas so that tribal youths can be lured away from Maoists’ influence.
BSF battalions have been deployed in Koraput and Malkangiri districts for more than a decade.
