NAREDCO to host Haryana Real Estate Summit 2022 on Nov 29

Gurugram: To maximise the effectiveness of existing policies of the Haryana government, apex real estate body NAREDCO will host a Real Estate Summit in Gurugram on November 29. National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), an apex real estate body that works under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, will host the ‘NAREDCO Haryana Real Estate Summit 2022’ and ‘Buyer-Seller Interface’ on November 29 in Gurugram. “The Haryana Real Estate Summit 2022 gives us a platform to examine the state’s projects and programs and assess the possible impact of various policies adopted in the real estate and infrastructure sectors,” Parveen Jain, Chairman, NAREDCO said in a statement.

Focus on farm-sector to enrich rural economy in Haryana: Chautala

Chandigarh: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Friday said that unless the villagers are informed about modern agriculture and agro-based enterprises, the nation and the state cannot grow significantly. He added that the officers should focus on the agricultural sector in order to make the economy prosperous. The Deputy Chief Minister was reviewing the 'Haryana Agri-Business and Food Processing Policy' formulated under the Directorate of MSME. Chautala directed the officers to create a strong 'value chain linkage' and said that research should be emphasized so that those who set up their units under the 'Haryana Agri-Business and Food Processing Policy' get enhanced profit which will also give thrust to employment.

Punjab initiates process to change Edu Dept’s name from DPI to Directorate of School Education

Chandigarh: Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Friday directed the officials of the Education Department to change the centuries-old, “official but irrelevant name of the department”, after which the process of changing the name — that is Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) — has been started. The Minister said that ‘education department’ was named as ‘Directorate of Public Instruction’ during British rule, and till date, nobody even thought to change this irrelevant name as now this name does not have relevance as per its work and responsibilities. The Minister has written to the state Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary (School Education) asking them to initiate the process of changing the name, the process for the same has been formally started. “In future, this department will be known as Directorate of School Education,” he informed.


Punjab Govt approves upgradation of Science City’s Large Format Film Theatre

Chandigarh: Punjab Government on Friday gave a green signal to upgrade the Large Format Film Theatre in the Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala, from the existing system to high-resolution full dome digital immersive projection system. The approval was given by Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua during a meeting of Science City’s governing body. “The Governing Body has approved procurement of a new 3D film “Dino Safari” which will soon be launched for benefit of general public and the students,” said Janjua, adding that the Government had sanctioned Rs five crore during the current financial year, out of which Rs four crore has already been released for visit of Government School students.

Three-day Punjab state women Gatka tournament from Dec 2 at Kotkapura

Chandigarh: Gatka Association Punjab, under the aegis of National Gatka Association of India (NGAI), is organizing Punjab State Gatka (Women) Championship from December 2 to 4 at Baba Farid College of Nursing, Kotkapura in Faridkot district. The gatka competition would be held for sub-junior, junior and senior age groups, in association with District Gatka Association (DGA), Faridkot, for under-14, under-17, under-19, under-22, under-25 age groups and teams from all districts would participate, said Association president Harbir Singh Duggal and general secretary Talwinder Singh Ferozepur.

In a first, Bathinda MC constructed special public toilet for transgenders

Chandigarh: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Punjab Government has constructed a special public toilet for the transgenders. “A toilet for transgenders has been constructed in an area of 90 square feet by Municipal Corporation Bathinda near the Bathinda bus stand…A provision has also been made to provide toilet facilities for physically-challenged persons in this public utility. More such special toilets will also be constructed soon in other cities,” said the state Local Government Minister Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar on Friday.


Mass marriage organized by Sant Nirankari Mission, 54 couples tie the knot

Chandigarh: After the conclusion of the 75th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam, a mass wedding ceremony was organized by the Social Welfare Department of Sant Nirankari Mission at Sant Nirankari Spiritual Complex, Samalkha (Haryana). In this ceremony, a total of 54 couples tied the knot in the presence of Nirankari Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj who blessed the newly-married couples and wished them a happy life ahead. Thousands of devotees, brides and grooms, along with their parents and relatives were present on this auspicious occasion.
