The BJP State executive on Wednesday termed the State Government’s 5T scheme as a clear hoax for the people, saying the scheme has been launched to hide facts and to undermine the real issues confronting the people of the State.
The meeting was held with party State president Samir Mohanty in the chair.
The party’s political resolution stated that in a resources-rich State where people are deprived of safe drinking water and farmers are not getting water for irrigation, the so-called 5T is designed to deceive people.
While the per capita income of the farmers at the national level is Rs 10,248, it is only Rs 5,112 in Odisha because of the nexus of millers, brokers and Government officials. Farmers are not getting the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy which the Centre has increased to Rs 2,040. Due to non-submissions of the list to the Central Government, 18 lakh farmers in the State are deprived of getting Rs 6,000 annually from the Central Government.
Taking a potshot on the law and order situation in the State, the party resolution stated that the State reports four rape cases daily. In the last five years, 27,000 children have gone missing. BJD leaders are involved in a number of criminal cases.
The electricity bill in the State is skyrocketing and 92 lakh consumers are suffering as the Government has handed over the sector to a private company. More than 1,800 school headmaster posts are lying vacant.
The party questioned the claim of the State Government on Mission Shakti and women empowerment.
The party welcomed the decision of Prime Minister Modi and party president JP Nadda in nominating tribal woman leader from Odisha Draupadi Murmu as the NDA Presidential candidate.
The party hailed Agnipath as an ambitious scheme for youths of the country.
