Monday, 31 January 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

Condemning the attack on Koderma former MP Ravindra Rai on Sunday, the State BJP leadership has alleged that law and order has taken a back seat in JMM/Congress alliance government. The BJP State president, Deepak Prakash said that there law and order situation in state has deteriorated to such an extent that people are even afraid of getting out from home. The confidence of criminals, anti-social elements have boosted in alliance government regime.

On Sunday, Former BJP MP from Koderma Professor Ravindra Rai (BJP Former MP Ravindra Roy)’s car has been attacked. Ravindra Rai, who was in the vehicle at the time of the attack, has alleged that had he not escaped from the car, the protestors had planned to set ablaze his vehicle and even plan to kill the bodyguard.  The attack occurred at Telchacho in Bokaro district by protestors who were protesting against the inclusion of Bhojpuri and Magahi in the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) examinations. After the attack, Ravindra Rai reached the Chas Mufassil police station and made a written complaint (FIR).

According to media reports, this protest is taking place after the Jharkhand government’s decision to include Bhojpuri and Magahi languages in district-level appointments. Ravindra Rai was going to Dhanbad  for attending a function when some protestors stopped his vehicle and attacked.

Prakash said that the law and order situation of the state has completely collapsed. The way the morale of criminals, extremists and anarchic elements is raising their heads, now no one is safe. The BJP president said that the intention of government is not to control crime, but on other hand government machinery believes in harassing common man.

Raising the issue of poor law and order situation, Prakash said that militant attacks are taking place all over the state, criminals are harassing people, and criminals are having a party in jail.

Echoing the views of Prakash, BJP leader Legislature Party and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi strongly condemned the attack on Dr. Ravindra Rai's car and said that ever since the formation of JMM/Congress government in state, attack on BJP workers, leaders have gone up. Recently, former MLA Gurcharan Nayak also narrowly escaped the militants, two of his bodyguards lost their lives.

Former Jharkhand BJP MLA Gurucharan Nayak narrowly escaped Maoist attack in West Singhbhum district on December 4 evening, but two of his bodyguards Shankar Nayak and Thakur Hembrom lost their life after Maoists slit their throat. The incident took place at a public function West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand.

Marandi said that the way Rai was attacked, the way the windows of the vehicle were broken, the flag and the board were broken, this is a well-planned conspiracy at the behest of the government.
