Bairagarh police nabbed the manager and four accused gambling in the room of Hotel Om Palace were arrested and Rs 51750 cash, playing cards and mobile phones were seized from the hotel.
A special campaign is being run against gambling and betting under the guidance of senior officers and on Wednesday information was received from the informer that the hotel manager is operating gambling inside the room no. 216.
A team was formed and after obtaining a search warrant, action was taken and in room number 216 of Hotel Om Palace Bairagarh gambling inside the room was operated.
The Arrested accused were identified as Hotel manager Sumit Jaide (31) of Bairagarh, Piyush Kripalani (30) Halalpur Lalghati, Manish Makhijani (35) of Bairagarh, Sanjay Adnani (40) Berasia and Naresh Kumar Devani (38). Confiscated material- 52 playing cards, 06 electronic mobile chargers and cash of Rs 51750.
Meanwhile Nishatpura police have arrested a vehicle lifter and seized a stolen 1 motorbike cycle worth Rs 30000 near a liquor shop in Nishatpura on Wednesday.
For the prevention of vehicle theft incidents of the police station Nishatpura, search for the vehicle lifters is conducted and acting on a tip off regarding a vehicle theft a person was detained with a bike. He failed to provide details and confessed stealing it from LIG colony.
The accused was identified as Mohsin Khan of Rajiv Colony. Police suspect that the accused is involved in other vehicle stealing and which would be investigated.
