Members of social organisation “Team Clean City” cleaned the statues of Mahatma Gandhi located in four different places of the city on Sunday morning to mark the 74th death anniversary of the Mahatma.
They paid their floral tributes at the statues and recollected Gandhiji’s contributions and sacrifice to free India from the British rule.
The members first assembled near the statue of Gandhiji located in the Station Road and after the statute was cleaned, senior lawyer Nirmal Kumar Sahu garlanded it and paid his homage to Gandhiji. Later, the team members moved to the Gandhi statues located in Biju Patnaik Park, Gandhinagar square and Ramalingam Park and cleaned them, besides garlanding them.
