Assembly passes Appropriation Bill

The State Assembly on Saturday passed the Odisha Appropriation Bill 2022 to authorise payment and appropriation of certain sums out of the Consolidated Fund of the State for the services of the financial year 2022-23.

 

It related to issue of Rs 20687,35,44,000 out of the Consolidated Fund.

 

Under the Constitution, no money can be withdrawn from the Consolidated Fund except under Appropriation made by law passed in the legislature.

 

While demands for expenditures relating to 24 departments were passed in the State Assembly during the last 15 days, the expenditures pertaining to other 20 departments were passed through guillotine.
