Monday, 06 June 2022 | Staff Reporter | bhopal

A skills training, and livelihood enhancement programme is framed under the Rural India Skill Empowerment (RISE) programme.

AISECT is implementing this project in 8 states, i.e.  Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha with facilitation from the respective State Skill Development Missions, using adequate human resources at each level.

It is initiated by Microsoft in partnership with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

The programme envisages empowering women and youth from underserved communities and remote areas, by providing skills training in Digital Productivity, Communication Skills, Employability Skills, and Entrepreneurship Skills.

This programme is aimed at training 200000 candidates through 20 hours of a training program per module. Post-completion of the training, the candidates will be awarded a completion certificate by Microsoft.

Microsoft would also provide mentorship and guidance to enable and enhance livelihood opportunities.

To bridge the gap in the digital divide, and promote the importance of digital learning, Microsoft through its Microsoft Community Training portal wishes to enroll candidates and engage them in a self-paced mode of learning as well as through live classes and webinars.

All through, the project envisions making candidates aware of availing and utilizing digital learning platforms.

Speaking on this Initiative of AISECT and Microsoft, Siddharth Chaturvedi, Director of AISECT highlights, AISECT is a 37-year-old organization, built towards working for societal development.

AISECT says it is glad to have partnered with Microsoft for implementing their Rural India Skill Empowerment program which aligns with the mission and vision of AISECT for empowering women and youth.
