Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati on Wednesday took a jibe over government claims of providing highways better than in the United States.
The former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh said that the condition of highways in Uttar Pradesh, particularly the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand expressways, showed how the Bharatiya Janata Party was making false propaganda but the potholes revealed the truth to the commuters.
Through a series of tweets on Wednesday, the BSP supremo said that the news of a new expressway collapsing was in the news and it exposed the government's claims.
She tweeted that constant collapse of new expressway, 982 potholes in 50 km Lucknow-Unnao showed that most of the roads were in a bad condition in UP and because of it there was a rise in fatal accidents.
“It is in discussions everywhere, which exposes the government claims. While here in UP, even after the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party government for the second time, the promises and claims of making the state pothole-free are being made almost every day by every minister and leaders, but like their other claims, the state has not become pothole-free,” she added.
