As part of the 5T initiative, keeping in mind the comfort, safety and necessity of passengers, work is on for a revamp of the Baramunda Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT).

On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T Secretary VK Pandian on Sunday visited Baramunda along with BDA Vice-Chairman Sanjay Singh and took stock of the progress of the ISBT and bus depot construction.

Pandian directed the concerned officials to complete the work by March 2023. While the depot construction is complete, the ISBT work was found satisfactory.

The ISBT is being constructed at a cost of Rs 89 crore in an area of 11.8 acres with facilities like adequate parking space, food court, restaurants, shops and commercial space. Provisions are being made for plying of over a hundred buses from the ISBT, a CMO release said.
