The Cyber Crime and Economic Offences Police Station, Brahmapur, has started its functioning since December 29, 2021.
Till date, a total of 202 cases of cyber fraud through various means have been reported. Out of which in 19 cases the Cyber Police Station has successfully recovered a sum of Rs 9, 51,487 from various payments gateways/ accounts of the fraudsters.
Besides, 66 fake Face book accounts and 20 fake Instagram accounts have also been blocked on the request of the petitioners.
The cyber police have also effectively and timely tracked and
recovered 11 mobile phones and handed over the same to their
respective owners.
