The police got a big success in the encounter between the police and the squad of Naxalite zonal commander Ravindra Gajhu, carrying a prize of 15 lakhs, on Thursday morning in Korgo forest of Bagdu police station of Lohardaga district. Sources said that 200 pieces of explosive IED, 200 meters of Kordex wire, as well as Naxalite weapons, cartridges, Naxalite literature, pithu, mobile phones, medicines and items used by Naxalites were recovered from Korgo forest of Bagdu police station area. It may be noted that the Maoist killed in the encounter has been identified as Chandrabhan Pahan, a resident of Ugra Medho village under Senha police station area of Lohardaga district. While the arrested Naxalite Govind Virijiya is a resident of Putrar village of Pesharar police station area. It was told that the Naxalites gathered in the forest of Korgo and were in the process of carrying out a major militant incident, which was carried out by the SAT team of Lohardaga Police along with CRPF 158 Battalion. The plans of the Naxalites have been ruined. The criminal history of arrested Naxalite Govind Virjia has 18 cases registered in Lohardaga, 5 in Gumla district and 4 in Latehar district respectively while Chandrapahan has 16 cases registered in Lohardaga district, 4 in Latehar district and 4 in Gumla district.
