A 15-year-old girl was killed while her elder sister escaped with injuries after their scooter was hit by a truck at Bagsevania area in the state capital.
After they were hit they jumped and fell in which the younger sister was mowed down by the truck and she died on the spot.
Elder sister was also injured in the accident. Both were returning home after buying gifts from Raja Bhoj market.
Anushka Kanerjee (15) lives near Gitanjali School, used to study was class 10 student. On Monday, she along with elder sister Muskaan (16) were returning home after buying gifts from Raja Bhoj market on scooty and when they reached near the Ganesh temple in front of the Bank of India, a truck hit the scooter from behind.
TI Sanjeev Chokse said that he has talked to the owner of the truck and he had claimed that he has the permission of the administration to move the truck in no-entry. However, he has not given the documents yet.
Meanwhile Journalism student Sara Azam (22), who was hit by a car in Kamla Nagar area, died during treatment, she was undergoing treatment in Hamidia.
According to the police, Shubhankar Singh (22), a resident of Danish Kunj Kolar Road, is studying engineering in LNCT. He told the police that it in the night of November 22 he was going to Kolar on a motorcycle with his friend Sara Azam and during which a stray dog chased them near Shabri Nagar Complex.
He decelerated and to avoid the dog Sara pulled her legs and lost control and fell and was hit by a vehicle which was moving behind. Sara was taken to Jaypee Hospital by 108 in critical condition and when her condition worsened he was referred to Hamidia where he died late on Monday night.
