A 123-feet meditative Shiva statue is under construction in Jajpur district which will be the tallest statue in the State.
There is a 75 feet Hanuman statue in Rourkela's Hanuman Batika and a 108 feet Hanuman statue at Damanjodi in Koraput. The mesmerizing Lord Shiva statue is poised to boost the tourism of the district.
Jajpur is a hot tourism hub. The Dashwamedha Ghat attracts tourists to Jajpur while Maa Birja temple in Jajpur is a most sought-after destination. Meanwhile, in just a few months, the construction of the mesmerising Shiva idol on the banks of the sacred Baitarani river will be completed, which will add another feather in the district's tourism cap.
"About 50 to 60 workers are engaged in its construction which would be completed by the Mahashivatri next year. The tourists can have darshan of the Lord by a lift and also have a sky view of the riverfront," said PWD Chief Engineer TaraPrasad Mishra.
