All voters who have been issued Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) will have to produce them for the purposes of identification and voting at the polling booths for the Panchyat election, said Deputy Commissioner Bokaro.
However, voters can exercise their franchise by presenting 11 other optional documents in addition to the Photo Identity Card (EPIC). The Election Commission has released the list of these optional documents.
“Those who are unable to produce an EPIC can furnish any of the following photo identity documents: Passport, Driving license, Service Identity Cards with photographs for employees of Central and State governments, PSUs and Public Limited Companies undertaking, Passbooks with photographs issued by banks or post offices, PAN card, Smart card issued by RGI under National Population Register (NPR), MGNREGA job card, Health Insurance Smart Card issued under schemes of the Ministry of Labour, Pension document with photograph and Aadhaar card,” added DC.
Notably, the three-tier panchayat election is scheduled to be held in four phases in the district. The first phase of polling will be held on May 14, the second phase on May 19, the third phase on May 24 and the fourth phase on 27 May.
Meanwhile, the District Transport Officer, Sanjeev Kumar said, for the polling process, a large number of small and big vehicles are required to carry and bring the polling personnel to the polling stations. In such a situation, the available resources of the district have to be used.

He took the names of all the school management and inquired about the number of small and big vehicles available, while providing its confiscation letter, asked to make it available in the vehicle cell operating in Bokaro Ispat Senior Secondary School, Sector III D of Bokaro Steel City on 10 May.
All the school management will ensure that all small and big vehicles (including the driver - Khalasi) report in the cell before the appointed date at 5 pm. Necessary facilities will be made available to the drivers of vehicles.
