A video of a visually-impaired boy has been circulating in social media in which he asks the administration, "I am blind; are the BEO office and the DEO office also blind?"
The video was shot when the boy was questioning the Block Education Officer (BEO) for allegedly not fulfilling the demand of school management committee of Beheraguda village under Dharmagarh block.
The committee has stated that unless sufficient teachers are appointed, the school will remain closed.
Since the opening of schools after the summer vacation, 425 students are on strike in front of the upper primary school, the main gate is locked due to shortage of teachers. At present, six teachers are appointed instead of 14.
The 6th standard blind boy said that for 30 students, one teacher should be appointed. He said, "I am blind by birth. Are the district administration and Government also blind towards the school’s closure for the last 14 days?"
