‘Political parties using Ambedkar’s name for own gains’

Friday, 15 April 2022 | PNS | Lucknow

Social organisation Bahujan Bharat organised a seminar on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India, at its headquarters on Thursday. President of the organisation Kunwar Fateh Bahadur said that giving rights to Dalits, backwards and minorities as enshrined in the Indian Constitution would be a tribute to Babasaheb in true sense.

He said that following the ideals of Babasaheb, BSP founder Kanshi Ram united 85 per cent of the exploited and deprived Dalits, backward classes and minorities, making them a unified force.

“The political parties are now using Babasaheb’s name for political gains. Keeping in mind the Lok Sabha elections to be held after two years in the country, Babasaheb’s name is being used a lot. But it is for us to see whether the rights of Dalits, backwards and minorities as espoused by Babasaheb are being given by the Central and state governments,” Fateh Bahadur said.

General secretary of the organisation Chintamani said that Babasaheb has given all the rights to the deprived sections of the society but these rights should not be confined only to the Indian Constitution and should be implemented.

On the occasion, vice-president of the organisation Nand Kishore, treasurer Ramkumar Gautam, joint secretary Krishna Kanhaiya Pal, Naval Kishore, Satyabhan, Basant, Lal Verma, Jawahar Lal, Vijay Chaudhary, Kamal Jayant, Ram Sajeevan and Anurag Yadav expressed their views.
