Terming the last seven years of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government “black years” in the political history of Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party state unit president Adesh Gupta said that the developmental activities have come to a standstill in the national Capital as the city Government failed to improve even the basic amenities.
Gupta also accused the AAP Government of disappointing the people by not fulfilling the 70 point election manifesto in 2015 and then not keeping 28 promises made in 2020 elections.
The BJP leader said that Kejriwal’s second term began with riots in Delhi in which many ruling party leaders were involved including people like Sharjil Imam, an ideological supporter, but Kejriwal preferred to keep quiet.
“The AAP government made tall promises in sectors like education, environment and transport but they did nothing in the past seven years. The city has not seen any new schools or colleges. There is no environment policy as a result of which Delhi has become the pollution capital of the country,” he added.
Taking a dig at Kejriwal, he said that the Delhi government has certainly taken a lead in two areas in the last two years that is rampant corruption in Delhi Jal Board and new excised policy. “Whether it is scam worth Rs 60000 crore in the Jal Board or another scam involving DSUIB, this rampant corruption in government departments is unprecedented and never seen before by Delhiites. At the same time every possible attempt was to financially cripple municipal corporations,” he said.
The BJP leader further said that the state government has indulged in massive corruption with this new excise policy and the AAP is making merry on this money for its political expansion.
