To help the poor and low income group during the pandemic, the Government of India has decided to provide free ration for two months to such people under the PMGKAY scheme by spending Rs 26,000 crore for 79.88 crore beneficiaries.
Along with this, in Uttarakhand state about 2735 metric tonnes of wheat and about 1583 metric tonnes of rice for May and 16,206 metric tonnes of wheat and 10,804 metric tonnes of rice for June has been released for free monthly ration distribution for 61,94,000 Antyodaya Anna Yojana and priority household ration card holders under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana NFSA.
The eligible beneficiaries would receive five kilogrammes of free ration per person that includes three kilogrammes of wheat and two kilogrammes of rice in the month of May and June.
